Debbie Lukin
Vice-President
Term Ends: 2010 |
Debbie Lukin has been involved with Native organizations for over 30 years, which has given her a great deal of insight into issues facing Native people not only in the corporate arena but the tribal arena as well. She feels that her many years of involvement with Native issues would help move the tribal council forward.
Debbie is the granddaughter of Nick and Martha Shuravloff, and daughter of Teshia (Shuravloff) Harris and Howard Hunter. She was raised in Kodiak with her brothers, Jeff and Nick Hunter. Debbie is married to Allen Lukin of Port Lions and has three children; Peter, Tricia, and Alaina.
For the past 25 years Debbie has worked for Koniag, where she currently oversees corporate services for Koniag Development Corporation. Formerly, she was employed by the Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA). Her employment with KANA began as a youth trainee in high school. She continued her employment with KANA for ten (10) years, finishing out her term managing the Manpower department for the last several years.
Debbie has demonstrated her commitment to education by serving on the Board of Directors of the Koniag Education Foundation and KEF’s Development Committee, as well as the Alaska Federation of Natives. Her experience working with Boards and Committees, as well as the knowledge she's gained through her many years of working with Native organizations would greatly benefit the Council and future of the tribe.
